Exhibition of Moscow artists opens in Athens

In the hall of the cultural center of the municipality of Kifissia presented fifteen painters and sculptors and ceramists. Private initiative to organize exhibitions supported by the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Athens. Participants of the exhibition told RIA Novosti that went to Greece (many of them were in this country for the first time) with a special feeling, as studied with samples of Greek art. "I grew up on the culture of ancient Greece, Byzantine culture, many copied Greek ceramics … We potters these forms, studied, made ​​black-lacquer painting, I developed the technology. Sculptor Marina Levinskaia, author of several monumental works in Moscow, brought to the exhibition a number of small bronze pieces. According to her, the Greeks introduced the universal language of sculpture, which has been preserved to this day. Participated in the exhibition artists Yuri Tsvetayev Potselueva Irina, Elena Dubskaya, Tatiana Vavrzhina, sculptor Nina Zamakhin and others. Artists have already accepted the joint participation in exhibitions abroad, including in Belgium, Italy and France. In Greece, their work has been exhibited for the first time. "Greece is a mecca for the Russian artist. This country is close to us in spirit. We are all here grekofily ", – said the project manager Natalia Shvetsov. According to her, Russian artists are going to get in touch with Greek colleagues, and perhaps invite them to exhibit in Moscow.
