USSR People's Artist, pianist and teacher Krainev died on 68 th year of life after a serious illness in Hanover, Germany, where he was professor of the Higher School of Music. Talent and boundless devotion to the profession of law won, Vladimir Krainov Vsyevolodovitch fame as one of the greatest musicians of our time. Krainov was born in 1944 in Krasnoyarsk, in the evacuation, then lived in Kharkov. His musical talent manifested itself even in the middle of Kharkov Special Music School. With the support of Kharkiv teachers enrolled in the Moscow Central Music School at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in 1962, he entered the conservatory. Worldwide recognition came to Kraynev in the early 1960's, when he won the top prizes at major international competitions in the UK in 1963 and Portugal in 1964. After the speech, in Britain the young pianist was invited to tour the United States. In 1970 he won a brilliant victory at the Tchaikovsky International Competition in Moscow. Since 1966, Extreme is the soloist of the Moscow State Philharmonic. Since 1987 – professor at the Moscow Conservatory. Since 1992 – Professor at the Higher School of Music and Theatre in Hanover. Toured extensively in Europe, U.S., speaking with such distinguished conductors as Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Carlo Maria Giulini, Kurt Masur, Yuri Temirkanov, Vladimir Spivakov, Dmitry Kitayenko, Saulius Sondetskis. Among his most important recordings – all piano concertos by Mozart, Prokofiev, works by Mussorgsky, Prokofiev, Rachmaninoff, Schnittke, Shostakovich, Shchedrin, Eshpai. Awarded the title People's Artist of USSR (1990), USSR State Prize (1986), Russian Federation State Prize (2003). Awarded the Order of Merit»III (2004) and IV (1997)," Badge of Honor "(1980). Is an academician of the Academy of Arts of Russia.
