In Nevinnomyssk (Stavropol region) on the basis of State Humanitarian-Technical Institute (NSTU) in cooperation with the NGO "Ecological Patrol" was first held marginal environmental conference. The main topic of conversation was to discuss the environmental safety of the city. The aim of the conference – the organization of dialogue between representatives of public authorities, business structures, enterprises in the city on environmental issues and environmental protection. The conference was attended by representatives of the City Administration, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection UK, and specialized agencies, NGO Environmental Watch, industrial, scientific and environmental community of the region. "They discussed the problems in the field of ecology, examines the reasons and ways to improve the ecological environment in the largest industrial center of southern Russia – City Nevinnomyssk. High urgency of environmental problems among residents confirmed the results of a poll of the population of the city, who presented the executive director of the Environmental Patrol Svetlana Glushko – told YuGA.ru one of the participants. He added that the activities and concerns of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection in the Stavropol region and Nevinnomyssk said Minister Anatoly Baturin. In his speech he noted that environmental problems are becoming more acute and require urgent attention not only by inspecting agencies, but each person. And they must be addressed comprehensively, together with environmentalists, public organizations, authorities and representatives of enterprises. Also during the discussion of ways to address environmental issues raised questions of bio-and ecological situation of water bodies, the problems of waste management, environmental assessment of the environment, health, environmental education and awareness. "There was an urgent need for a new environmental program with investments in all sectors of the environment, because adopted by the 2009-2013 year, the program of measures to reduce anthropogenic impact on the environment is outdated and requires an adjustment, "- said the source. Following the conference, agreement was reached between the administration, City Council Nevinnomyssk, heads of enterprises, organizations and associations for cooperation in the creation of urban environmental program "Improvement of ecological situation in the city of Nevinnomyssk" taking into account scientific advice. Determined by joint action of industrial enterprises and the public on environmental issues, as well as dialogue between the environmental associations, the representatives of the health care industry and authorities to coordinate joint efforts in environmental protection.
