McFaul be appointed not earlier than autumn, said a source in the U.S. administration

About the upcoming appointment McFaul on Sunday newspaper wrote New York Times. A senior U.S. administration confirmed the RIA Novosti news agency that President Obama nominated McFaul as the new ambassador to Russia, but did not say exactly when. "Because the appointment is preceded by hearings and approval by the Senate, then at the earliest, when it (the nomination) may take place – is in the autumn", – said the source RIA Novosti. Throughout Obama presidency McFaul was one of the key figures in the "reset" the relationship between the two countries. In Washington a few months already swirling rumors that the embassy headed by the current Second Deputy Secretary of State Daniel Russell, and a message McFaul was quite unexpected. The White House has not officially announced the upcoming appointment McFaul. Now the U.S. ambassador in Moscow, is John Byerly.
