The EU introduced a "black list" brother of Syrian President

On Monday night the EU Council decided to impose an embargo on deliveries to Syria of weapons and equipment that can be used in the repression against the population. Approved a ban on issuing visas and freeze bank accounts of members of the Syrian leadership responsible for the deaths of protesters. Just a "black list" of the EU were 13 Syrian senior officials, but it did not appear until the country's president, Bashar Assad. During the last week during a discussion of the sanctions regime permanent representatives of 27 EU countries, Britain, France and Germany advocated to include the Syrian president's "black list". Southern EU countries, particularly Greece, Portugal and Cyprus do not support this measure, since it can significantly reduce the possibility of the EU's dialogue with Syria.
