69030815 Indonesia has bought Brazilian Super Tucano trainer aircraft
Indonesia's Ministry of Defence signed a contract with the Brazilian company Embraer contract to supply eight combat-capable aircraft EMB-314 Super Tucano, reports DefPro. The contract was signed following a tender held by the Ministry of Defence of Indonesia in 2010. The amount of the transaction were not disclosed. Delivery of aircraft will begin in 2012. At the end of May 2011, Indonesia purchased 16 training aircraft T-50 Golden Eagle in the South Korean company Korea Aerospace Industries. The deal amounted to $ 400 million. The contract was signed following the same tender, which participated in, and Embraer. Previously, Indonesian Air Force announced that after signing the contract with the winner, could be signed a supplementary agreement with one of the finalists. The new airplanes will have to replace the Air Force in Indonesia outdated BAE Hawk Mk.53. It is curious that a month before signing a contract with KAI Government of Indonesia has asked the South Korean request to purchase four military transport aircraft CASA CN-235 Indonesian production. On contract to supply South Korea, the Indonesian Transport has not yet been reported.
