31036058 Syria considered the EU sanctions a declaration of war
Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem said his government was considering sanctions against the EU, as a declaration of war, reported Agence France-Presse. What exactly in this "war" is going to take the leadership of Syria, the diplomat did not elaborate. Earlier, the European Union announced sanctions against several high-ranking Syrian officials, as well as several large companies connected with the Syrian leadership. The accounts of these people and companies in Europe, frozen, and associated with the regime of bureaucrats and businessmen banned from the EU. The Syrian minister also said that Damascus will not tolerate any outside interference in internal affairs. He, in particular, ruled out the possibility of establishing a zone of Syria, a no-flight or other form of foreign military intervention. In addition, Moallem urged Turkey to reconsider its tough stance against the Syrian leadership. Previously, Ankara categorically demanded from Damascus to stop violence against its own population. This requirement was due to the fact that more than ten thousands of Syrians have fled from the border areas of their government in Turkey. The flux of internally displaced persons has not dried up. In this regard, Turkish President Abdullah Gul demanded that Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad to announce the creation of Syria pluralistic multiparty system, there hold fair elections under the supervision of foreign representatives, ending violence and promoting freedom of the media. Syrians until these requirements do not yet ready.
