The current state budget is encouraging, but officials still expect the budget deficit by the end of this year. Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin this week noted that in Russia there is a reduction of budget deficit from year to year. "This year's budget deficit will be 1.5% of GDP or even less," – he stressed. At the same time, in late June, he even expressed the hope that Russia will complete this year without a deficit. In early July, the Prime Minister noted that "in fact, the deficit will be about 1% of GDP." According to the law on the budget deficit in 2011 is projected at 1.3% of GDP. In turn, Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said in late July, predicted that the federal budget deficit in 2011 will be about 1% of GDP. "As long as we maintain our forecast of a budget deficit – more than 1%", – Kudrin said. He noted that traditionally, most of the costs, which can lead to higher budget deficits, it is necessary for the second half.
