Minister of Tourism Malaysia begins official visit to Vladivostok

Week trip will begin with a visit to Vladivostok. Then follow the Khabarovsk and Novosibirsk. A visit to Moscow on August 27. The visit – meeting with the mayor of Vladivostok Igor Pushkarev, the mayor of Novosibirsk, Vladimir Gorodetsky, and governor of the Novosibirsk region Vasily Yurchenko, familiarity with the tourist potential of the regions, the presentation of tourist potential of Malaysia and discussion with representatives of the tourist industry joint activities aimed at promoting tours to Malaysia. Far East and Siberia are the main sources of tourism for South-East Asia (Thailand, Korea). However, the growth of tourist arrivals Malaysia out of the region is still fairly low. To ensure that the situation has changed, it is necessary to persuade travel agencies to develop and promote tourist packages at different levels of the Far East and Siberia to Malaysia, based on existing transportation, as well as launching new charter program. The main objectives of the visit of Minister of Tourism Malaysia: Malaysia's increasing presence in the market of the Far East and Siberia to inform tourism companies on the latest achievements of Malaysia in the field of tourism, including new tourist destinations, addressing the organization of direct aviacharternyh traffic; promotion program "Malaysia – My Second Home" and MICE-trends in the markets of the Far East and Siberia. The program of the minister in all the cities included meetings with leading tour operators and media representatives, the organization of round tables and presentations representing a variety of opportunities for tourism in Malaysia. The tourism industry of Malaysia from year to year, increasing its activity. During the first three months of 2011 the number of Russian travelers who have chosen Malaysia as the destination of the rest, amounted to nearly 12.4 thousand people. This is a 27% increase over the same period last year. Results from January to March 2011 Malaysia visited 5.5 million foreign tourists, an increase of 3.7% over the same period a year earlier.
