Under the decree, commemorative medals were awarded to citizens who have "made a significant personal contribution to the establishment of Ukrainian independence, the assertion of its sovereignty, economic development and strengthening of the state's international prestige of the country." Awards will be presented during the celebrations to mark the 20th anniversary of independence in all regions of Ukraine. As reported by the "Comments", August 19, state administration affairs concluded agreements with the National Bank for the purchase of state awards, cases and documents for them. The total cost of the agreements reached 14.62 million USD. For example, bought 3.5 thousand commemorative medals "20 rokіv Nezalezhnosti Ukraine" for 1.09 million USD, the same number of cartons to them for 127 thousand UAH. Also, bought 5 items of state awards for 12.37 million USD and forms of documents certifying the awarding of state awards for 1.03 million USD. We also recall on July 15, President canceled two of the most financially burdensome budget item of preparation for celebrating the 20th anniversary of independence of Ukraine – holding of military paradata city of Kiev and making a memorable mark the anniversary "20 rokіv Nezalezhnosti Ukraine". Freed budget directed at the implementation of social programs.
