16630504 Turkish cartoonist to be punished for the denial of God
Turkish cartoonist Bahadir Baruter (Bahadir Baruter) summoned to court on charges of "insulting religious values of society ", the newspaper Hurriyet. The reason for the commencement of the trial was a caricature artist, previously housed in a humorous magazine Penguen. Istanbul chief prosecutor responded to numerous complaints from readers and Penguen just those who care and case filed against the cartoonist. In the event that Baruter convicted, he faces a year in jail. This case was not the first, when the content of the cartoons okoloreligioznogo hurt the feelings of Muslims. The most famous scandal was the Prophet Muhammad cartoons published in Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten. On one of the images the artist has depicted the prophet wearing a turban head, looking like a bomb with a fuse ignited. This cartoon caused a flurry of indignation in the Muslim countries that ignited a boycott of Danish goods, attacks on Danish embassies and representative offices, as well as threats against the cartoonist and his newspaper.
