Friday, October 21, 2011 The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows that 19% of the nation’s voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Forty-two percent (42%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -23 (see trends). In early looks at 2012, the president leads Rick Perry by eight and Mitt Romney by one. Herman Cain has a two point advantage over the president. Cain also leads the Republican hopefuls in Iowa with Romney in second and everyone else far behind. Nationally, Cain and Romney are tied for the lead. Overall, 44% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the president’s job performance. Fifty-five percent (55%) at least somewhat disapprove.
