Evil Canada must pay [Global warming zealots want hefty guilt payments for scant CO2 emissions]

Canada has become a petroleum pariah. And the green fundamentalists want you to pay the price. Emission reparations are all the buzz at the United Nations Climate Change Conference underway in Durban, South Africa. They want us to fork over a fortune to poor countries, atonement for our crimes against humanity. Jean Chretien and the Liberal elites signed us up for this boondoggle because it was trendy. Making commitments without thinking about the financially crippling consequences. Kyoto ugly is going to send our country to the poor house. We need to reverse that mistake in a hurry. Environment Minister Peter Kent has hinted at it. We need out of this climate change church of hypocrisy while the getting’s good. Greenpeace executive director Kumi Naidoo says Canada’s commitment to developing the oilsands is actually killing Africans. What a bunch of bunk! Global warming zealots want Canada to make major contributions to the “Green Climate Fund” which would dole out $100 billion every year to Third World countries. Evil Canada must pay for its sins with hefty guilt payments. They want to pinch your pocketbook too, with new taxes on air travel, shipping and financial transactions. The hypocrisy of the Canada blame-game is just ludicrous. They figure polite Canada won’t push back. That we’ll be wracked with guilt by their accusations and pay up. Canada produces less than 2% of the world’s C02. The oilsands are just a tiny fraction of that. No matter what you believe about the religion, it’s insignificant in the grand scheme of things. China chugs out more carbon than anyone, nearly a quarter of it. Some 70% of its power comes from coal. Yet China recently joined the chorus of Canada-bashing, calling Canada a “bad example” for the developed world. Why aren’t Robert Redford, Daryl Hannah and the environmentalist fundamentalists protesting in Tiananmen Square? We all know the answer to that one. America, the Saudi Arabia of coal, accounts for almost 20% of emissions. America’s not even a member of Kyoto, yet U.S. President Barack Obama and his celebrity buddies have no problem slagging Canadian energy. Instead of being embraced we’ve been stabbed in the back. Hypocrisy. Canada has been an unworthy scapegoat because we’re easy to pick on. We don’t talk back — let alone shoot back. Look, I believe in clean water, but we need to reach a compromise without compromising a $14 trillion meal ticket. We must not bend over with guilt under the withering attacks of the apostles of the cult of global warming. Global warming “science” is nothing more than a faith-based religion with a doomsday prophecy. All those who question their faith are heretics. Thankfully they don’t yet have the power to launch an inquisition. The faithful ignore the latest studies from their own commune that take dire global warming projections off the table. “Green” technologies have all proven both expensive and even environmentally hazardous. The facts bear repeating. There is no proven connection between man-made CO2 and global temperatures. Their shaky system of fear can’t hold up to scrutiny. Kyoto ugly will expire next year. Let it die a natural death and pass into the afterlife. It’s only then that we will be delivered unto salvation. IT’S CANADIAN COMMON SENSE.
