This week, along with about 13 million Jews in the world (yes, that’s all they are), our family will celebrate the feast of Easter – perhaps the oldest continuously celebrated religious festival in the world. Easter is primarily a house party, not the synagogue. Preparations take days. We sat at a table adorned with familiar objects: a silver cup for the prophet Elijah, chandeliers, a leg of lamb represents sacrifice in the days of the Temple, bitter herbs, unleavened bread, parsley, eggs and l ‘ salt water.
