The White House is reporting the progress of President Obama’s initiatives to reduce gun violence, but says that the most important step would be to get a reluctant Congress to pass new gun laws. Vice President Joe Biden was announcing Tuesday that the government has completed or significantly advanced 21 23 enforcement actions that Obama ordered in January in response to the shootings in elementary school in Connecticut, which killed 20 students in first grade and six staff members.
