CTC TV channel next year plans to change its target audience of people between the ages of 6 and 54 years for people who are 14 to 44 years. In CTC Media point out that until a final decision on changing the target audience is not accepted. If the channel is still going to take this step, then the market will be notified about this autumn. In this case, the company noted that the additional costs the change would not require – since 2008, CTC is trying to focus on a more adult audience. Now 76 percent of advertising budgets are intended for audiences aged 14 to 44 years. Meanwhile, CTC for several years held first place among the leading TV channels in the proportion of children's audience, but the share of people aged 14 to 44 years in 2007 he had a fourth place, and in 2010 – the second. Recall that the television advertising market in Russia for more than half of all advertising budgets. So, in 2010, advertisers spent on TV 130.7 billion rubles, and in general, their expenditure was 250 billion rubles. During the crisis, advertisers prefer to cut spending in other media but not on TV and the Internet.
