WASHINGTON (AP) – The low-income workers union health plans are not entitled to the same federal grants for individuals who purchase insurance in the new health care markets in the country, the White House said Friday. The decision is a disappointment for the unions, which occurred soon after the union leaders have met for more than an hour with President Barack Obama to press his case that subsidies could be extended to union-sponsored plans.
