The US Agency for Environmental Protection (EPA) of 18 August 2015 proposed regulations to reduce emissions of methane. These regulations will be the first to limit methane emissions from direct field of oil and gas; built in 2012 a provision which sought to limit the volatile organic compounds (VOC) of hydraulic fracturing (fracking) to extract natural gas.
