Researchers have carried out analysis into the drummed speech system of the Bora individuals of the Northwest Amazon. They discovered the Boras not solely reproduce the melody of phrases and sentences on this endangered language, but in addition their rhythm. This means the essential function of linguistic rhythm in language processing has been underestimated.
