Australian welterweight Jake Matthews is able to bleed freely for his pursuit of MMA glory – as he proved by signing his battle settlement to face Emil Meek at UFC Auckland in blood.
The UFC introduced on Thursday that ‘The Celtic Child’ – who’s 15-Four in professional MMA – would throw down with Norwegian Meek in Auckland on February 23, on a card headlined by the mouthwatering light-weight showdown between Paul Felder and Dan Hooker.
Matthews, 25, confirmed his dedication to the trigger by posting an image of the bout settlement, sealed with a bloody fingerprint as an alternative of a signature.
“I signed this one in blood. @ufc Auckland might be battle!” he wrote, tagging ‘Valhalla’ Meek, who’s 9-Four in his professional profession.
Matthews is Four-1 in his final 5 octagon outings, beating Rostem Akman final trip through unanimous resolution at UFC 243 in October.
Meek might be returning to motion for the primary time since July of 2018, when he suffered a unanimous resolution defeat to Bartosz Fabinski at UFC Combat Evening 134. He might be trying to arrest a two-fight shedding streak and to choose up what could be a second win in 4 UFC bouts.
Elsewhere on the cardboard at Spark Enviornment, heavyweights Ben Sosoli and Marcos Rogerio de Lima will meet, whereas Tyson Pedro and Vinicius Moreira will do battle at gentle heavyweight.
