New video footage from the killing of George Floyd by police officer Derek Chauvin exhibits fellow officer Tou Thao standing between Floyd and a crowd of horrified bystanders, who plead with Thao to intervene and save Floyd’s life.
A graphic video clip launched by Floyd household legal professional Benjamin Crump on Sunday exhibits the killing of Floyd from a special approach, and casts police officer Tou Thao in a damning gentle.
“That is past disturbing, even more durable to observe than the primary video,” Crump captioned the five-minute clip. “Tou Thao stood guard as Derek Chauvin MURDERED George Floyd … whereas witnesses of the execution tried to face up for JUSTICE, tried to save lots of George’s life!”

The video opens with Chauvin’s knee on Floyd’s neck. “He’s not f**king transferring, bro,” bystanders scream at Thao. “You gonna let him kill that man in entrance of you?” one man asks. “He’s black, they don’t care,” one other witness sighs. Floyd is finally rolled onto a stretcher and brought away by an ambulance, as Thao makes an attempt to push the group onto the sidewalk.
Not like the preliminary video of the incident, which shocked the nation and provoked almost three weeks of protests and violent riots, the newest clip focuses on Thao, who stays stone-faced because the bystanders beg for assist.
Thao has been charged with aiding and abetting second-degree homicide, as have two different officers current. Chauvin has been charged with second-degree homicide and manslaughter, and all 4 have been sacked from the Minneapolis Police Division.
