Trump says he ‘completely rejected’ Pentagon plan to slash navy healthcare by $2.2 billion, vows to guard ‘heroes’ from cuts

Donald Trump has poured chilly water on the thought of drastically decreasing spending on navy healthcare, after a report emerged claiming that the Pentagon hoped to make sweeping finances cuts.

The president’s message was in response to a report revealed by Politico, which said that the Division of Protection wished to trim healthcare spending over the subsequent 5 years as a part of Secretary Mark Esper’s name for Pentagon belt-tightening.

“A proposal by Pentagon officers to slash Army Healthcare by $ 2.2 billion has been firmly and completely rejected by me,” Trump tweeted. “We’ll do nothing to harm our nice Army professionals & heroes so long as I’m your President. Thanks!”

An estimated 9.5 million active-duty personnel, retirees, and their members of the family depend upon the government-run healthcare system, which operates a whole bunch of amenities world wide. Esper and his colleagues have argued that some parts of the military-run program may very well be handed over to the personal sector, Politico stated.
