UFC flyweight Liana Jojua has proven off the grizzly nostril scars she nonetheless bears from her Combat Island stoppage defeat to Miranda Maverick final weekend.
Jojua suffered a deep gash the highest of her nostril inflicted by Maverick’s elbow within the first spherical of their contest on the undercard in Abu Dhabi, and later required six stitches.
The Georgian posted a selfie of her restoration course of on her Instagram Tales on Thursday, alongside the caption that she “looks like Frankenstein”.
Jojua, 25, will even serve a six-month medical suspension, though that could possibly be diminished to 2 months with 45 days of no-contact coaching if she’s cleared by an ear, nostril and throat physician.
Her defeat to Maverick took her document to Eight-Four in MMA and 1-2 within the UFC.
She advised RT Sport that UFC president Dana White had spoken to her after the defeat and stated she would combat once more: “He didn’t overlook about me and confirmed help. He stated that it wasn’t one of the best stoppage and that he’ll give me one other combat.”
As for Maverick, who was making her UFC debut, she is now Eight-2 in MMA and having fun with a four-fight successful streak.
