48-year-old Alexander Wright, a black homeless man from New York, was arrested and charged with committing a hate crime after a video confirmed him spontaneously assaulting an Asian lady in Chinatown on Monday.
The video, taken from CCTV surveillance footage, confirmed the person approaching a 55-year-old Asian lady earlier than punching her within the face. The lady then fell immobile to the bottom as the person walked off. She was taken to a close-by hospital following the assault.

Wright was quickly arrested and charged with assault and committing a hate crime, police advised native media. The person is believed to be homeless and was allegedly carrying the drug K2 on the time of arrest.
