31627952 NATO chief criticizes Russian ballistic missiles
NATO Secretary General, Mr. Anders Fogh Rasmussen called the Russian program to develop intercontinental ballistic missiles, "a waste of money", which speaks of "legacy thinking" in Moscow, reports The Daily Telegraph. Speaking in London, Rasmussen said that NATO is no threat to Russia, and also noted that the invitation to Moscow to cooperate on missile defense is proof of that. NATO invites Russia to create two independent anti-missile system, among which will be put in the exchange of information. Russia's permanent representative to NATO Dmitry Rogozin said that Moscow is not going to listen to the words Fogh Rasmussen, as the goals and parameters of programs to develop weapons is a sovereign affair of Russia. "We will ensure that our defense out there and where and what we consider it necessary", – transmits Rogozin said, Interfax. Currently, Russia has been developing and testing several new types of ballistic missiles. Among them, in particular, there are missile submarine-based Bulava tests which have attracted public attention due to a succession of failed launches. Since 2013 the Ministry of Defense of Russia plans to nearly double its production of ballistic missiles of various range. For serial production systems "Bulava" yars "and Iskander-M 2020 is planned to allocate 15 billion rubles. It is also known that by 2013, the Defense Ministry plans to finish work on a new liquid intercontinental ballistic missile that will replace consisting in service types.
