My e-mail response to The Jewish Press.

I wouldn 't worry to much about the Turner victory. . . at least now you at The Jewish Press won 't have to spend the next two years scolding the candidate you endorsed! Okay. So much for my well earned "gotcha!" Now to other matters. . . The readers who insist that government assistance trumps "gay marriage" are missing two points: first, to go flout this universal Noachide prohibition of HaQadosh Barukh Hu 'is (at the very least) selling one ' s soul for money, and even more importantly (according to Rashi) actually putting this country in danger of destruction. How is the government going to take care of everybody if Hashem destroys the country, huh? Secondly, there is (so far as I know) no law that says that in order to have sound moral stances one must be a social Darwinist (though you wouldn 't know this from the way American politicians behave). There have been throughout American history politicians who supported the weak and stood for social justice without advocating such abominations as "gay marriage." Ever hear of William Jennings Bryan? Huey P. Long (who, whatever his faults, was no anti-Semite)? The turn of the twentieth century Populists and Progressives? Ever hear of Theodore Roosevelt? Shoot, even Franklin Roosevelt ever dreamed in the darkest part of his soul that one day his party would be the party of homosexual marriage! So why do Democrats allow two percent of the population to hijack their party? Where are today 's Bryans or Roosevelts? Why, at every single election, are we offered the choice of starving in order to uphold Gd 's universal laws or going along with abominations in order to put food on the table? Where does this bizarre mindset come from? To those who are saying that Orthodox Jews have always voted for people who didn 't share their "values" (as liberals and Xians like to call Gd ' s Commandments). Hello! That is precisely the problem! What business do the Jews, the Holy Nation, the One Nation on Earth, the Nation Not Numbered Among the Nations of the Earth, the `Am Hashem, have voting in such a way? What do you think Bechirat Hashem is about? Does Hashem 's Rule end at the shul door or where the frum voter ' s driveway enters the street? Is Hashem Melekh Malkhei Melakhim or is He not? Orthodox Jews have never had any business to behave like drunken, crooked nineteenth century Irish Catholic Tammany Hall sots. How long as Mashiach 's arrival been delayed, Gd forbid, by such behavior? Or perhaps Mashiach 's imposition of the Kingdom of Gd on the world violates the beliefs of the Voltaire fan club (Voltaire, unlike Huey P. Long, WAS an anti-Semite). And one last observation: if Gd exists, the universe is already a Theocracy. Every Orthodox Jew in the world LIVES in a floating, portable Theocracy (the Jews '"portable homeland" is most certainly a portable Theocracy!). What kind of sick, demented rationalizing does it take to tell oneself that in order to be free to observe Hashem 's Commandments (the ONLY legitimate "religious freedom" there is) that one ' s surroundings must be reduced to a moral sewer ? What kind diseased mind says "if gays can 't do their thing, who knows how long before davvening is outlawed?" That is not only sick, it is a chillul Hashem – the idea that Gd 's Commandments, Gd ' s Torah, or Gd 's Nation needs a sewer in order to be safe??? I urge those voters who object to Theocracy and insist on being disciples of the (anti-Semitic) eighteenth century European enlightenment to at least be consistent enough to deal with one last horrible relic of "xian theocracy" that still mars our land. It turns out that there is still a law against murder. Imagine that! This primitive, irrational law straight from those horrible fascist "ten commandments" is actually the law of the land! Obviously the work of ending slavery, legalizing abortion on demand, and freeing the perverts from the Tyrant of Heaven is not yet complete while this medieval anachronism still exists in our supposedly secular state! Where is the ACLU? I hope this will provide some food for thought … provided there 's room left over after the crow!
