According to the report of human rights defenders, 45-year-old al-Haj was detained at a checkpoint near the town of Jenin. Al-Hajj is one of the most prominent Hamas leader in Jenin. In addition to the post of representative of Hamas in the city, he was a member of the delegation of his group on inter-Palestinian dialogue conciliatory. Before that, al-Haj was arrested several times by Israeli security forces. He was released less than a year ago after a three-year imprisonment. Earlier, Israeli authorities have detained the leader and several activists of Islamic Jihad in Jenin.
