ROCK HILL - A Mongaup Valley man is accused of stealing a debit card from a woman who bailed him out of jail on a theft charge and using it to make several days worth of purchases in Orange and Sullivan counties, Monticello police said Saturday. Brandon Wisniski, 21, was charged with felony fourth-degree grand larceny. He was arrested Friday by Middletown officers on a petit-larceny warrant issued in Monticello for the theft of the debit card on Aug. 5, village police said. Police said he stole the card from the purse of a 20-year-old Rock Hill woman who had bailed him out on a petit-larceny charge. Wisniski is being held in $ 3,500 bail in Sullivan County Jail. Police said he is also wanted on a petit-larceny charge in the Village of Liberty and could face additional charges in the debit-card theft.
