Construction of a modern port for ships and coastal fishing complex of tourist and recreational facilities (yachting marina) was discussed yesterday at a joint meeting of the heads of the Ministry of Transportation and the Federal Agency for Fishery in Moscow, where the Kaliningrad Region was represented by Minister of Infrastructure of the region Alexander Rolbinov. "An agreement was signed between the Ministry of Transportation and Rosrybolovstvo, eliminating differences that have for years prevented the implementation of the project. In particular, removed excessive demands to potential investors, which included deepening the harbor to 12 meters. Also been defined maximum length berth – 800 meters. Reduction requirements significantly increases the economic interest of potential investors to the project "- the minister said, quoted by the press office. Rolbinov noted that the construction of the marina will be met and the interests of fishermen, who will be able to use a free berth for mooring and unloading of goods. The implementation of large scale investment project "Amber Shore: Yacht Club and Resort" in the field of transport and tourism in the city involves the construction of Pioneer International passenger sea terminal for cruise liners and ferries in the area of the existing northern breakwater. Emphasis will be given to the yacht marina with modern sea berths with a capacity of 750 yachts and seating area of 3.5 hectares, designated for the сторидж of vessels in the winter and sailing competitions in the summer, as well as the 500-meter zone for fishing boats and modern marinas. In addition, there is supposed to create a tourist and recreation zone that includes hotels, swimming pools, a modern underground parking complex, shopping center, open-air amphitheater at 3.7 thousand seats and an indoor concert hall by 1.2 thousand people.
