The Taliban has belatedly reached out to calm the nerves of Kabul residents after the terrorist assaults on the airport, explaining the latest explosions are solely the US army destroying ammunition forward of their departure.
An announcement from the Taliban acknowledged “a number of explosions” that had been heard in Kabul on Thursday, attributing them to “US troops who’re destroying their belongings at Kabul airport.”

“Please don’t be disturbed,” the assertion concluded.
The explosions had beforehand been mistaken for a continuation of the assaults that left some 60 useless and 140 injured. The casualties have been compounded by the huge crowds making an attempt to seize one of many few remaining seats on an outward-bound flight.
