In Raleigh, North Carolina, the race was held with the participation of several thousand fans of donuts. As written by The Charlotte Observer, each competitor Krispy Kreme Challenge had to overcome two miles (about 3.2 km) run to the store donut, eat a dozen glazed fried in butter pies and make the return trip. Total for the contest were registered more than 7,5 thousand people, but managed to reach the finish line only 5,5 thousand runners – amateur pies. The first distance overcame 27-year-old Jeff Glick. He spent the race and eating donuts just under 30 minutes. According to the rules of competition, the participants had before them no more than an hour. Krispy Kreme Challenge race wore charity. In 2011, the donut lovers managed to raise 100 thousand dollars. The money will be transferred to one of the children's hospitals in the state. Sports Illustrated magazine named the race fans donuts one of the competitions in which every American should have time to participate in university studies.
